Anyone can throw a website online and call it good, but what does it say to your visitors?

Your website should compel your potential clients to take action - either by calling, emailing, or purchasing your products. A solid website turns as many visitors as possible into actual customers.

FAQs

Q. I need a logo or a website. Where do I start?

A. It's a good idea to start with a budget in mind. Mad Hatter strives to find the best options for your needs and budget, but we aren't miracle workers. We cannot provide you a $3000 website for $500. We have to earn a living too! If you are unsure of the going rates for design, we suggest you research several designers.

Once you have your budget in mind, you can start gathering your thoughts for your design - what colors you like, feelings you want to convey, who you're targeting, etc. Once you contact us we'll ask lots of questions, so don't worry if you don't have a completely clear picture. It's important that we know what your vision is for your design, but you're hiring us to do the dirty work, right?

After we have all the information we need, we'll get down to business. Our turnaround time depends on the nature of your project. We will be sure to communicate that with you.

Q. What is the best option for web design?

A. It really depends on two things - 1. the purpose of the website and 2. your budget. Get in touch with us if you are unsure of what options you have.

Q. What happens if I want to make changes to my design?

A. This depends on the point in the process that you decide to make changes. If we are still providing you with concepts, it's perfectly fine to ask for changes. If you've chosen a concept but decide you want to make drastic changes to the concept, as opposed to minor revisions, it's likely that you'll be billed for the extra time spent. If you want to make changes to a design that has gone to press or is already live online (which means we've finished our agreed work), you will most certainly be billed for the time spent on revisions. Not to mention, you'll probably incur charges from the printing company. Our advice is to make those changes early. You can take the time you need to think things over before making your decision.

Q. Can I cancel a project once I've paid Mad Hatter for it?

A. If you've paid, we've probably begun work, but yes, you can cancel. Keep in mind that you will be charged for the hours already spent on your project, and therefore will not receive a full refund. We ask for a deposit for a reason.

Q. Who should hire Mad Hatter?

A. We love working with all kinds of industries, so really, almost anything goes. It's usually about the personality. Our clients tend to be creative, open-minded, easy-going individuals. We think we've done a good job attracting the kinds of clients we enjoy working with!

Q. Does Mad Hatter work on spec?

A. No way. Never. We think working on spec is pretty awful, and that no designer should be asked to do it. If you don't know what "working on spec" is, you can check out this site. We always require a deposit or payment in full, depending on the total amount of your project's costs. We'll discuss this with you during your consultation.
